  • Aalto 2018 By Mariano García, Vega Sicilia's former 30-year-long winemaker, is a tempranillo from 40 to over 100 years old vines located in 9 different areas - a few of them are younger (Grown from their best older vine material). Harvesting is done by hand and grapes are inspected bunch by bunch. The Aalto 2018 was bottled in July 2020.

    Considered by many to be one of the best wines in Spain - According to its price point, it definitely is one of the best values among the finest wines out there.

    • Grapes: 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo)
    • Aging period: 16 Months in oak barrels and, at least, 2 months in the bottle.
    • Oak: 50% new French and American oak

    🥘 Pairs well with stews, red meats, roasted pig, rice dishes.

  • Aalto 2018 has an intense red color. This wine is highly complex on the nose. Predominantly aromas of well ripened red fruit and notes of liquorice and spices emerge. On the palate this wine is fresh, long, and meaty with a persistent structure of sweet and elegant tannins.

    Result of a well-known between Mariano Garcia and Javier Zaccagnini (From Ossian). The delicate and detailed selection of prime raw material (grapes) defines this winery located in Quintanilla de Arriba, which supervises about  250 acres of low-yielding vineyards. Thanks to the winemaker's background, effort, and consistent results after some years, Aalto is a distinguished winery in the Spanish wine scenario producing one of the highest quality wines out there, only released in the best harvest years.

    All harvest is done manually, transportation is done in small size crates and the fruit is gently macerated to avoid harsh or bitter tannin.
