Arzuaga Reserva comes mostly from the oldest vines on the winery's La Planta estate, from the varieties 96% Tempranillo, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot. This reserva wine is the result of traditional, sustainable vine-growing. The chalky clay soils with limestone bedrock less than a metre below the surface at an altitude of 900 m (3,000 ft) give their wines their unique character.

"Aromas of blueberries, cola, coconut, dried herbs and sandalwood. Full-bodied with polished tannins. Suave and creamy with a woody character. Chewy finish. 96% tempranillo and 4% cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.." -
The Arzuaga winery is in Valladolid, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. The wines come from La Planta, an estate belonging to the Arzuaga family in Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the province of Valladolid. This is an excellent location for vine-growing, as the plants receive the sun and moisture they need for the grapes to ripen perfectly.
