  • Fruity and pretty, this wine demands much more attention for its mix of richness and elegance than its relatively modest price would suggest. Serious wine from serious people - 2016 brings a sweetness of fruit characteristic of this lovely European vintage, while not stinting in the stones department!
    • Vintage: 2016
    • Appellation: D.O. Ribera del Duero
    • Grapes: 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo)
    • Aging period: 12 months in oak barrels
    • Oak: French and american oak
  • Robert Parker, 91 pts

"The textbook 2016 El Pedrosal was cropped from a cooler year that perfectly fit the house style and their preference for harvesting early to keep good acidity in their wines, which makes them fresh and long-lived. However, in 2016 the harvest started later, as the grapes ripened slowly and perfectly. This wine has the balance between ripeness and freshness, power and elegance, with a spicy touch from the oak that is not intrusive. Great freshness, one of the best vintages for this entry-level red from the Pérez Pascuas family. 180,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2018."

  • Hermanos Perez Pascuas

Brothers Benjamin, Manuel, and Adolfo Perez Pascuas established the winery in 1980, but their father Mauro actually planted grapes well before that. So, you have a well-established family business dedicated to top-quality wines from all estate grapes featuring older vines.
At about 2600 feet above sea level, these vines benefit from a wide diurnal temperature
range, which preserves the acidity and hence freshness of the wines.
